Core

Just like the original edonkey2000 client mldonkey seperates the core from the User Interface. The core does all network transactions and provides network interfaces for communicating with the GUIs. The advantange of this concept is that the GUI doesn't need to run on the same computer as the core does. So the core can be installed on some always running router (possibly without display or without access to the console) while it can be controlled from some other workstation where the GUI is running.
