ED2K-force high id

From MLDonkey
Jump to: navigation, search

Description

LowIDs have numerous drawbacks, and should be avoided whenever possible. However, under certain circumstances servers can assign a LowID to you because of temporary network problems.

When ED2K-force_high_id is set to true, MLdonkey will drop connections to the servers that mistakingly assign it a LowID, in hope of getting a HighID from another.

This option wouldn't magically give you a HighID, so do not enable it unless you're absolutely sure that HighID is really obtainable for you, and LowIDs you get are exceptions and not a rule. Otherwise, you will end up with each and every connection to a server being dropped immediately after establishing.

Example

> set ED2K-force_high_id true
