If you get an

Exception Sys_error(\"Input/output error\")

message (when killing the core, or when commiting files for example), it could be because the core couldn't write to its standard error stream. Check that you redirected standard error output of the core, see how to start MLDonkey.

Another reason might be that you redirected the core output and the corresponding disk is full.
