Max indirect connections

From MLDonkey
Jump to: navigation, search

Is the number of the file descriptors that the MLdonkey core process is allowed to open for incoming client connections.
A low value will never give you any LowID, as it has sometimes been said before.

For logical reasons, this value has to be less than the one specified in max_opened_connections.
Setting it to 10000 will be as unlimited.

_Indirect connections used not to be limited by max_opened_connections, I don't know if it was modified since then. (Logical ? Who said MLdonkey is logical ;) )_

You can lower load on servers by putting this to 0. But, keep in mind that lowIDs guys' waiting queues are smaller because they can't have other lowID buddies in it. So, if you are a HighID, you will begin to retrieve data from them faster.
